Dear Editor:
The Kishwaukee College Foundation plays an important role in supporting the mission of Kishwaukee College. Each year, the Foundation awards over $250,000 in student scholarships and supports College departments and programming from funds generously provided by local donors. The stewards of the funds are local volunteers who serve on the Kishwaukee College Foundation Board of Directors.
Recently, the Foundation Board welcomed new Directors: Suzanne Juday, Sycamore; Terry Martin, Shabbona; Norman Jenkins Sr., Rochelle; Ging Smith, DeKalb; Bruce Griffith, Sycamore; Jamie Craven, Rochelle; Jesus Romero, Sycamore; and Jim Doherty, Sycamore. They join long time board members: Brett Brown, DeKalb; Mike Mooney, DeKalb; Larry Kendzora, Sycamore; Geri-Dee Hayden, Rochelle; Evelina Cichy, DeKalb; and Lorna Bemis, Sycamore. The Kishwaukee College Board of Trustees welcomes these new Directors and thanks the entire Board for their time and talent.
In these tough financial times, given the decreased public support for higher education, the support of the Foundation is critical to the continued success of the College, the students it serves, and the local businesses that benefit from its graduates. We look forward to working with the Foundation Board of Directors to move the College forward and supporting the needs of our college community.
Robert Johnson, Chair
Kishwaukee College Board of Trustees
