Don’t miss your chance to see the family comedy “Leaving Iowa.” Stage Coach Players proudly announces its August production of their 64th summer season, “Leaving Iowa.” Showtimes are at 8 p.m. Aug. 12-14 and 19-21. There will be a matinee show at 2 p.m. Aug. 22. All performances will be at Stage Coach Theatre, 126 South 5th Street in DeKalb.
Directed by Norm Read of Kingston, Leaving Iowa is the poignant story of Don, a man who returns to his childhood hometown for a baptism and winds up taking a journey to find a final resting place for his father’s ashes. Along the way, following his father’s travel guide, Don begins to reminisce about the vacations he took with his family when he was a boy.
The story of Leaving Iowa transitions from present to past, and offers a nostalgic and oftentimes humorous piece of 1960’s Americana and the trips many of us took with our families through the heart of the United States.
