The Art Insitute in Chicago will be hosting an evening program for a select group of hearing challenged people. The Art Institute staff will provide an interactive tour of works in the collection presented in American Sign Language only, without voice interpretation. This program is intended primarily for the deaf community, but all visitors are welcome.
The Gallery talk and presentation in American Sign Language will be Thursday, October 31 for 6:00 to 7:00 PM. No registration required for this event.
Those interested will meet in the Griffin Court area of the Art Institute for this Tour. The Art Institute offers a variety of tours for individuals with physical challenges. Persons with disabilities who would like to request an accessibility accommodation for an Art Institute program are encouraged to send an email to access@artic.edu two weeks in advance of visiting the Art Institute.
Museum admission is free for Illinois residents every Thursday, 5:00–8:00—including during this event. Other programs are offered with museum admission or membership.
