The Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra invites community members to its live Arthur D. Montzka Young Artists Concerto Competition on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, held from 10 am to 3:15 p.m., in the Boutell Memorial Concert Hall in the Music Building at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb. The competition is open to the public at no admission charge. Members of the audience may come or go after each performer.
This annual event presents Illinois musicians, up to the age of 18 years old, playing portions of concertos in a competition to determine who will win a monetary prize and perform a solo concerto accompanied by the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017. The 20 competing soloists and the pieces they are performing are listed on the KSO’s website www.kishorchestra.org.
