DeKalb Kite Fest 2016 is September 11 at the NIU North 40 (corner of Lucinda Ave & Kishwaukee Dr.) and they need your help to make it the best one yet! Kite Fest organizers are looking for volunteers to help out during the 2016 Kite Fest. Shifts are in 2 hour segments, 9-11am, 11am – 1pm, 1-3pm and 3-5pm, and volunteers are able to work one shift or all four, whatever fits your schedule. You are welcome and encouraged to enjoy the fest before and/or after your shift.
Some of the tasks include directing traffic, set up, take down, helping with the kite craft and candy drop, and keeping the area clean of litter. Tasks are assigned when you arrive for your shift.
Groups, families or individuals are welcome to register to volunteer. This is open to NIU students/organizations and to the DeKalb County community. Organizers are happy to sign any needed documentation to provide proof of service to help you meet your community service goals. They also send out thank you emails that can be used as proof of service.
