In 2011, the DeKalb Sycamore Area Transportation Study (DSATS) published a Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan. The plan proposed constructing a path to connect Northern Illinois University (NIU) to the City’s bike paths. In the spring of 2012, DSATS applied for the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program grant to assist with the construction of such a path. The grant was approved, and the City began construction in the summer of 2017.
The Kishwaukee Kiwanis Multi-Use Path links Prairie Park on the south side of Lincoln Highway to the NIU campus on the north side of Lincoln Highway via an underpass. This provides an off-street bike path from Devonaire Farms Subdivision to Hopkins Park and then links to the DeKalb Nature Trail. The path will improve regional bike trail connectivity.

Did we really need to spend thousands on a roof for a tp foot section. Now you know why dekalb is in the red. Next is 15000 for a facelift at 23 and 38. How about resurfacing the doorway (peace rd off 88)to dekalb that is like a mine field of jumps n bumps. Rant done.
