Honorary Parade Marshal
Kishwaukee Fest committee has selected DeKalb Police Commander Craig ‘Woody’ Woodruff as the official Honorary Parade Marshall for the 2018 Parade of Parades. Commander Woodward is a 20 year veteran of the DeKalb Police Department. “Woody” has been a leader and is well respected by all that know him. According to Chief of Police Gene Lowery, “He is an exceptionally intelligent, solid police officer, mentor to many and an exemplary leader who always has his heart in the right place”. According to other officers on the DeKalb (IL) Police department, Woody has been and will always be a friend to all and an advocate for the men and women of the police department and the entire community. Commander Woodruff recently was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, and to show that he would not fight this battle alone, the department created a benefit called “Backup Has Arrived”. He and his wife and family believe in DeKalb and all the good it has to offer its citizens.
