Kishwaukee Community Hospital is among the nation’s Most Wired Hospitals and Health Systems for 2013 according to Hospitals & Health Networks (H&HN). Kish Hospital first received the designation last year and was included in the Most Wired – Small and Rural list. This year, Kish Hospital is proud to be included with much larger hospitals and health systems, which received Most Wired status this year regardless of size.
For the 15th year, H&HN has named the Most Wired Hospitals and Health Systems based on the Most Wired Survey. This year, 659 hospitals and health systems completed the survey, representing 1,713 hospitals, roughly 30 percent of all U.S. hospitals. The number of hospitals and health systems designated as Most Wired increased to 289 organizations. The survey includes four main areas: Infrastructure; Business and Administrative Management; Clinical Quality and Safety (inpatient/outpatient hospital); and Clinical Integration (ambulatory/physician/patient/community).
KishHealth System Chief Information Officer and VP of Revenue Cycle Heath Bell said, “It is a great honor for Kishwaukee Community Hospital to be once again recognized as a Most Wired facility. This designation reflects the commitment not only to implement technology, but to use that technology for the benefits of our staff, physicians and most importantly our patients. The use of technology systems helps to reduce errors, increase quality, and provide for more expedient care. Achieving this status was only possible through the collective efforts of all our employees. KishHealth Information Systems Department staff members work very hard to implement new systems and continue to support legacy systems in an effort to continually improve our operations.”
