We are excited to have these young ladies in the Kishwaukee Fest Parade this Friday, July 26.
Miss Heartland 2019 – Annika Strolle
Annika’s favorite quote is “Dreams don’t work unless you do,” and that is absolutely true. She was honored to have received four incredible awards this past June at the Miss Illinois 2019 Pageant:
- Quality of Life Scholarship Finalist
- On Stage Interview Award (Preliminary – Omega group)
- Evening Gown Award (Preliminary – Omega group)
- 3rd Runner-Up Miss Illinois
She is a recent college graduate and professional dancer.
Miss Heather Queen – Maggie Sim
Miss Sim is a freshman at North Central College, studying business and marketing. She is a member of the track and field team competing in high jump. Maggie has been a Thistle and Heather Highland Dancer since the age of five, and has been involved in the Scottish community since. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering and reading nonfiction books. Being Heather Queen has given Maggie the opportunity to embrace her Scottish heritage and work with the Chicago Scots to spread awareness of Scottish culture throughout Chicagoland.
Our Queens will be in the Downtown area to meet and greet with local parade goers and will be hosted by Cracker Jax and Lauren Woods.
The Kishwaukee Fest Parade of Parades is celebrating its 10th year. It begins on Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Founders School on 7th street, proceeds East to Lincoln Highway, and ends on Second Street in Downtown DeKalb.
