The Kishwaukee College Annual Career Fair will be held on April 20 from noon – 4:00p.m. in the Kishwaukee College Conference Center. Michelle Allen, Coordinator of the Kishwaukee College Career Center stated, “We traditionally have over 50 employers attending the Fair with excellent, open positions. Job seekers should bring resumes, come dressed for an interview, and have their ‘elevator speech’ prepared. You only have five minutes to be fabulous or forgotten!” The Career Fair is free to job seekers and open to the public.
New this year is the “Chat Room” which will include computers available for job seekers to complete online applications. Allen noted, “We will have staff available to assist job seekers, but they should come prepared with all necessary information – including previous employers and reference contact information. More and more companies are requiring job seekers to apply online and we want the time spent at the Career Fair to be highly productive for those looking for a job.” Job seekers will also be able to ask questions or for advice from workforce professionals in the “Chat Room.” Also, new this year is a Photo Booth where job seekers can have their portrait taken for their LinkedIn Accounts. Allen stated, “We are excited to be adding these services to assist job seekers in finding their next position.”
Job seekers attending the Career Fair should park in the A-Parking Lot and enter the Kishwaukee College Conference Center through Doors #16 or #17.
