Plan to come to the 67th Annual Kirkland 4th of July Festival this coming Thursday through Saturday, July 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 2015. Kirkland does Independence Day right with a huge parade, food, a carnival and entertainment. Best of all, Kirkland does an awesome fireworks show, billed as the *Biggest in Northern Illinois* every 4th of July at 9:30pm.
Thursday starts off with a wristband night for rides, food stand and vendors at 5pm. The festival’s Beer Tent opens at 6pm, with no charge to enter. Get in on a game of Bingo, sing some karaoke and watch the Queen Contest Thursday. The evening ends with Shuvlhed playing live from 8pm until midnite.
Other events of note include a Car and Tractor Show on Friday, Fire Department Water Fights and a Pedal Pull on Saturday before the Fireworks. A pancake breakfast will be held in the park from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. July 4. The Fourth of July parade will be held at 11 a.m., and a pork chop barbecue will be held immediately after the parade. The band, Back Country Roads will be the featured band Friday evening and Red Woody takes the stage last on Saturday. The Kirkland Festival is sponsored by the Kirkland Lions Club and is located at Franklin Township Park, 1 block south of Rt. 72 in Kirkland. A full schedule of events for the weekend is listed below.

This year my daughter and my grandbabies are home for the fourth. So glad that my grandbabies can experience the 4th at Kirkland.
And they’re listed as one of the top ten in the state! http://www.onlyinyourstate.com/illinois/fireworks-il/
