This is the week of the 65th Annual Kirkland Lions Club Annual 4th of July Celebration in Kirkland, IL. The Kirkland 4th of July Celebration starts on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2013 at 5pm with the food stand, flea market and rides (until 10pm). From 6-10pm Wednesday get in on Jamie’s Karaoke, bingo and Wristband Night (unlimited rides, one price). The Queen Contest takes place on stage at 7pm. The Beer Garden will be open on Wednesday from 5-10pm and Shuvlhed takes the stage from 8pm – midnight.
On Thursday, the 4th of July, don’t miss the Kirkland Parade which kicks off at 11am. The beer tent, flea market and rides will be open from noon – 10pm Thursday. There will be Fire Department Waterfights, Bingo, Bags Tournament, Pedal Tractor Pulls and much more fun to take part in. Summerfield Zoo takes the stage Thursday from 2-3pm and Funktional Family live band goes on from 6-10pm. Friday’s happenings go from 5pm to midnight. Back Country Roads takes the stage Friday evening from 8pm – midnight.
Saturday, July 6th features the Kirkland Car Show from 8am-4pm and Tractor Show from 9am – 4pm. Carnival rides and Flea Market run from noon – 10pm. Saturday’s live music is Menagerie from 5-9pm. Kirkland’s famous ‘largest in Illinois’ Fireworks take place on Saturday evening this year beginning about 9pm. There are no pets allowed on the park grounds during the Celebration.
