This is the week of the 66th Annual Kirkland Lions Club Annual 4th of July Celebration in Kirkland, IL. The Kirkland 4th of July Celebration starts on Thursday, July 3rd, 2014 at 5pm with the food stand, flea market and rides (until 10pm). From 6-10pm Thursday get in on Jamie’s Karaoke, bingo and Wristband Night (unlimited rides, $18). The Queen Contest takes place on stage at 7pm. The Beer Garden will be open on Wednesday from 5-10pm and Shuvlhed takes the stage from 8pm – midnight.
On Friday, the 4th of July, don’t miss the Kirkland Parade which kicks off at 11am. The rides, bingo, food tents and vendors will be open from noon – 10pm Friday. The beer tent will be open noon until midnight.
There will be Fire Department Waterfights, Bingo, Bags Tournament, Pedal Tractor Pulls and much more fun to take part in. Summerfield Zoo takes the stage Thursday from 2-3pm and The Wind Gypsys play their rockin’ Tributes live in the beer tent from 6pm until midnight. Acoustic Pop/Rock music by Steve McClanahan goes on from 6-10pm.
Saturday, July 5th features the Kirkland Car Show from 8am-4pm and Tractor Show from 9am – 4pm. Carnival rides and Flea Market run from noon – 10pm. On Saturday their will be a ventriloquist, a magic show, a dance show, wristbands for rides only $18 and a performance by the high school pep and jazz band. The beer tent will be open Saturday from noon until midnight. Saturday’s live music is Drift Away Caribbean music from 6-8pm and Back Country Roads from 8pm until midnight. Kirkland’s famous ‘largest in Illinois’ Fireworks take place on Saturday evening this year beginning about 9:30pm. There are no pets allowed on the park grounds during the Celebration.
