Plan to come to Kirkland this Saturday, July 13, between 10am and 2pm for their Kirkland Open Air Market and Community Fun Day. The Kirkland Youth and Community Organization (KYACO) presents the 2nd annual Kirkland Open Air Market. The KYACO has also invited a number of organizations to come downtown for the event.
They have Big Brothers/ Big Sisters coming, perhaps you would like to sign up to be a BIG. Adventure Works of DeKalb County will be at the event, which is a great program for our youth. Home depot will be there with activity building kits. Kirkland Police will have a safety bike course and they will also have a child safety seat check point. This way you can make sure your child safety seat is installed correctly. Other groups that will attend include NIU STEM Outreach, IdentiKid with free ID kit for your child(ren) and plenty of other organizations, but that is just to name a few.
The group will also have kites there so come on down and get a kite and fly it in the park. Don’t forget to bring any gently used clothing or any food donations to support our local food bank and clothes closet. For more information visit KYACO on Facebook or call Pam Heeter 815-757-0616 or Emily Harvel 815-970-7254.
