Kirkland has long been known for hosting an excellent small town, high energy Independence Day Celebration. This will be Kirkland’s 62nd year for holding their 4th of July Celebration. All kinds of activities will be going on Friday, July 1st through Monday, July 4th.
Friday kicks off at 5:pm with food vendors, flea market and carnival rides. From 6-10pm Jamie’s Karaoke will bring in the fun and bingo will be open. The Queen’s Contest is at 7pm Friday evening. From 8-12pm, Durty Mojo will play live in the beer tent.
Saturday starts out with the Methodist Church breakfast at 7:30am. There will be a Tractor Show going on all day Saturday for the farm enthusiasts. The beer tent, food vendors, flea market and rides open at noon. During the day Saturday there will also be a puppet show, pep band, science and magic shows and a storyteller. Shuvlhed takes the stage Saturday at 8pm.
Sunday is the Car Show beginning at 8am. Food, flea market, beer tent and rides run from 12noon to 10pm Sunday. The always exciting Fire Department water fights start at 2pm. Sunday, the Kirkland / Hiawatha elementary school will host an open house from 2-5pm. There will be bellydancing, a police Fatal Vision and K9 Demo, and Kyler the Magic Man on Sunday. Cooter Brown takes the stage Sunday from 6-10pm.
On Monday, the 4th of July, there will be a pancake breakfast from 7-9:30am. The Kirkland Parade kicks off at 11am. Beer tent, food vendors, bingo, flea market and rides are open from noon to 9pm. Enroute will take the stage at noon in the beer tent Monday. The Kirkland / Hiawatha elementary school will again host an open house from 2-7pm on Monday. At 4pm there will be pedal pulls to watch as well as Rollin Whiskey taking the stage until 8pm.
