The Nursing students at Kishwaukee College held a unique drive during the past several weeks: which class could collect the most rolls of toilet paper! Sue Hudson, Nursing instructor, explained that when the students held their annual food drive over the holidays last December, they discovered a need: toilet paper. Families who qualify for food stamps, Link cards, or SNAP programs cannot use the funds for purchasing toilet paper. The students decided to hold a friendly competition among the classes (1st semester, 2nd semester, 3rd semester, and 4th semester students). The result? The Student Nursing Organization and Nurses Christian Fellowship dropped off 3,811 rolls of toilet paper to the Barb Food Mart on April 28. The winning class was the 3rd semester students who collected 1,316 rolls. They received a pizza party for their efforts. Pictured are nursing students with the collected TP packages.
