On Saturday February 25th the Jane Fargo Hotel in Sycamore will present a very special Boutique Bridal Event, a first for it’s historic downtown location. The event will feature a sampling of area formal-wear vendors and a brand new look at the former ‘Stratford Inn,’ as they continue on under new ownership, by providing innovative events that showcase the beauty of its many photogenic interior locations.
Guests who attend will be treated to an array of eye catching sights and sounds with special presentations from businesses such as J&M Productions, who specialize in providing a memorable wedding DJ experience, lead by local radio personality, Mark Charvat, as well as DeKalb portrait studio, Womack Photography with samples of their bridal photography offerings. Joining them will be Ducky’s Formal-wear of DeKalb, Flowers by Frank, Essentials by House of Interiors, Sweet Earth Jewelry, and Paradise Found Family Spa. The event will be set in one of the hotel’s most photogenic areas, the gorgeous banquet room area, which is managed and kept up by Professional Banquet and Wedding Event Manager, Courtney Weber, who has seen the hotel continue to evolve and serve the community from her time there under the previous owners, to recent addition of current owner, Rachel Bauer, and the renaming of the business to the Jane Fargo Hotel. Both are equally optimistic about the future of the location which has been a cornerstone to downtown Sycamore for many years.
Another first for the hotel will be the addition of a formal-wear fashion show, which will accent the ballroom area for potential upscale and bridal events to come. A group of 12 models from local theater group, Wooden Box Theater, will display formal-wear fashions to guests of the event, as they do regularly at other venues in the area, including The House Cafe in DeKalb. The group began in 1995 in Sycamore. The Bridal themed event will also feature the first time live music will be performed inside the hotel, as female vocal group, Lions Love & Breakdowns (Megan Racine & Mary McRickard) will perform, along with singer/songwriter Heidi Hartwig, of Genoa, under her stage name, ‘Glory.’ The music and fashion portions of the event were written by Daniel Sherrill, of the Wooden Box Theater group, for which the models and musicians regularly perform with.
Both Weber and Bauer, along with the staff of the Jane Fargo Hotel are committed to giving guests who hold special events at their location a memorable and unique experience that they may share and recommend to others. They hope that people that attend this special event will be delighted to find that all of their bridal and event needs can be met in a single location in downtown Sycamore. Event Manager, Courtney Weber explains, “We will provide you with a unique and friendly environment through the help of our experienced staff and a destination that will showcase our strong bonded staff and full service location.” The hotel also features complimentary professional wedding consultations. Weber comes to the Jane Fargo Hotel with 30 years experience in wedding planning and organizing, and is excited to see visitors to the event exploring the many possibilities for their special day, and how the hotel may service their needs.
