Huskie spirit will fill campus and DeKalb this week as NIU celebrates Homecoming.
Between those events will come the Kick Off Rally in the MLK Commons, the Yell Like Hell competition in the NIU Convocation Center, the nighttime “Northern Lights” parade, the Homecoming 5K run/walk and, of course, the election of the Homecoming Court royalty and Saturday afternoon’s football game versus Eastern Michigan.
‘Townies’ will want to be sure not to miss the Homecoming Parade on Thursday, from 7-8pm. This year, they’ve amped up this long-standing Huskie Homecoming tradition and made the parade a Lights Parade! Entrants are encouraged to light up their vehicles (or themselves!) however they choose to help light up the night and pump up the Huskie Pride. The parade will start at Gilbert Drive and end on Third Street.
