Indian Valley Theatre is excited to announce that they will once again hold their in person Children and Teen Summer Workshop Programs at the Historic Sandwich Opera House. Now in its 38th year, IVT Summer Workshops continue to create quality children’s theater enjoyed by participants, family, and friends. Children will learn all facets of theater performance, taught by qualified educators.
IVT offers children and youth from incoming first graders to graduating high school seniors, a fun, safe and rewarding atmosphere to learn about theatre and build their confidence performing. Whether this is their first theatre experience or they already comfortable taking command of the stage, IVT’s Summer Workshops are for everyone.
This year children entering 1st thru 6th grade will be performing the show “Scare O’Clock News” written by Alethia Hummel. Classes will run June 14th to June 26th with class times Monday through Friday 9am to 12pm.
The Teen Workshop classes for those entering 7th grade through graduating seniors will run July 12th thru July 24th. This year’s program will be “1930’s Radio Hour”. Class times are Monday to Friday 9am to 12pm.
Performance dates and times for both programs will be announced at a later date but usually directly follow the class ending.
All classes and performances are held at the historic Sandwich Opera House, 140 East Railroad St. in Sandwich. Both sessions are a reduced rate this year of $75 per student. Class sizes are limited.
CDC guidelines and protocols will be followed which will include temperature checks, wearing of masks, hand sanitizer use and other sanitation procedures.
