Surround the TV with Pictures, Preferably Silhouettes
The natural greyish black of a TV in shutdown mode sticks out quite a bit if there’s nothing nearby to contrast with it. One way to counter that and create a natural contrast is with framed pictures. Black and white pictures and silhouettes will create a greater contrast still, but if you choose more contemporary color artwork, the TV will fit in quite well, especially if it’s always on.
