Over the past two weeks the DeKalb Police Department has investigated the report of several Home Invasions and Armed Robberies. The crimes are potentially linked to one another. At this time the suspects have not been apprehended. The investigations into these crimes are ongoing. One suspect is described as a Black male, thin build, average height. The second suspect is described as a Black male, average build, average height.
Update: All incidents occurred in the Northwest quadrant in the City of DeKalb, near the area of North Annie Glidden Road and Hillcrest Drive.
The DeKalb Police Department Recommends the Following Safety Tips to Citizens:
*Always be aware of your surroundings
*Walk with another person or in a group (not alone)
*Walk on well-lit, busy streets – Do Not Take Short Cuts
*Let someone know where you are going and when you will return
*If approached, obtain a physical description of the suspect(s)
*If a vehicle is involved, try and obtain the license plate number
*Keep the doors and windows to your residence locked
*If you receive a knock on your door, identify the person before you open the door
