This holiday season, Tails Humane Society is offering a heartwarming way to help shelter dogs experience the comfort of a home through its Home for the Howlidays: Dog’s Day Out program.
The program allows approved participants to take a shelter dog home for a short holiday “sleepover,” giving dogs a break from the shelter environment while helping staff learn more about how they do in a home setting. It’s a meaningful way for the community to support animal welfare during a busy time of year.
Important Dates & Details
Sleepover Pickup
- Monday, December 22 and Tuesday, December 23
- 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Sleepover Drop-Off / Return
- December 27 – January 3
- By appointment only
Participants provide temporary care, love, and a calm home environment while the dogs enjoy the holidays outside of the shelter. These experiences can also help improve a dog’s chances of adoption by offering valuable insight into their personality and behavior in a home.
If you’re looking for a rewarding way to give back this season—or want to see if a dog might be the right fit for your family—this program is a great opportunity.
