This Sunday, September 18th, is the annual DeKalb County Community Gardens’ (DCCG) Local Flavors Harvest Benefit Dinner at Tapa La Luna. The funds raised will help DCCG to continue providing fresh locally grown vegetables to the 20,000 children of DeKalb County who struggle to have enough to eat. Your support is essential for DCCG to continue empowering DeKalb County residents to choose healthy sustainable food. DCCG totally depends on the support of the local community, they do not receive any state or federal funding.
This is one of DCCG’s major fundraising events of the year. It is sold out every year, and people often say they wish they had attended. You are in luck, tickets are still available and they are easy to purchase. Follow this link to the Egyptian Theatre on-line ticket sales page, and purchase your tickets. (The service fee also helps support the Egyptian Theatre). You can purchase for the 4:00 pm seating, or you can purchase for the 6:30 seating. Tickets can also be purchased at the Egyptian Theatre box office on Thursday between 11 and 2.
Chef Chad will create another unique menu made up of local produce from local growers, and DCCG gardens. Bob Palmer will provide great music. It is always a fun night, and is usually much talked about. Don’t miss your opportunity to attend, be part of this special evening and be part of making a difference in the lives of our children. Thank you for being part of the solution. If you are out of town. please consider buying a ticket for a friend, or for someone who may not be able to afford buying a ticket of their own. Together we can close the food gap!
