Here are two Haunted Houses in the area that you may not have heard of yet. The Creston Haunted Opera House is held in a unique old Opera House by the Creston Booster Club. Creston’s Haunted Opera House will run this weekend, October 18th and 19th as well as next weekend, the 25th and 26th from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. each night. Tickets are $5 each. Scarers are still needed. Contact Ken Manning on their Facebook page Here. The Creston Opera House is located at 204 S. Main St., in Creston, Il. (just west of DeKalb). Every October the Sandwich Sportsmans Club puts on a Haunted House event to scare the daylights out of the local community. In 2013 the club welcomes you to Parris Lake Mansion. The master has passed on and the house groans its disapproval of his burial preparations. Boys and Ghouls of all ages are welcome to try to survive but they recommend the little ones come to the matinee.
Running both this weekend and next, from 7 p.m. to 11 pm on both Friday and Saturday evenings, the Sandwich Sportsmans Club’s Haunted House is located at 1011 Hartman Trail, in Sandwich. The cost is $8 per person. A children’s matinee will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturdays, October 19 and 26. Cost: $5 each. Visitors can get $1 off admission fees with a canned food donation. If you are hungry they also have snacks available. Visit their website to learn more now.
