Begins Providing Care Packages of Food and Clothing in Addition to Meals
Feed’em Soup Community Project is proud to provide a full Thanksgiving spread at their meal on Thanksgiving Eve – November 24th. Located at the First Lutheran Church of DeKalb (324 North Third Street, DeKalb) from 5 to 7pm the group will serve a complete home cooked meal open to the public. The Menu consists of Turkey, Cranberry Sauce, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Green Bean Casserole, Candied sweet potatoes, A dinner roll, Pumpkin Pie and Coffee. The meal is provided free of charge.
The group has several special guest servers lined up for the meal including DeKalb County Clerk Elect John Acardo, B95’s Brian Adams and Lisa Kammes, DeKalb’s 7th Ward Alderman.
In addition to the meal, the organization also operates a small food pantry during meal times and has been collecting winter coats to provide to meal goers. It has been a long time goal of the group to not only supply a meal, but also give patrons a care package to take with them to get them through until the next meal.
