Feed’em Soup staff hits the road to deliver food, clothes to others in need.
It’s a common misconception that non profits providing similar services are “competition” for each other. This week organizers of Feed’em Soup Community Project plan to come together with other local non-profits providing similar services and spread a little Christmas Cheer, together.
Feed’em Soup Staff is planning a county wide tour this winter and is kicking it off this week. “We want to let everyone know we’re here for the community” said Derek Gibbs, Marketing and Brand director for Feed’em Soup “We’ll be hitting the road to support other organizations doing amazing things in our community. The key word is community. We’re all in this together. We’re all in this to help.”
Feed’em Soup has packed their 2012 Toyota Sienna they won earlier this year in the Toyota 100 Cars for Good program full of winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves, boots, and food and hope to get them out to as many people that need them as possible. They visited the Cathedral of Praise’s Food For The Soul Soup kitchen on Tuesday from 5 to 7pm and will be at the Cortland Community Meal on Wednesday from 5 to 6:30pm.
While the tour is planned as a one time event used to strengthen relationships with other organizations in the community and provide quality items to those in need, the group intends to reach out to other organizations that service people in need of a mobile food pantry and clothing closet early next year. Organizations interested in being part of the tour can contact the group by calling 815 310 0903 or by Emailing Info@FeedEmSoup.org
