This Saturday evening is the Midwest Museum of Natural History’s biggest event of the year! The 5th Annual Groundhog Gala is a winter fundraiser unlike any other, featuring displays and demonstrations by natural history experts, live music, treats from around the world and an open bar. This year’s exhibitors feature a coffee expert, geologist, prairie restoration specialist, and more. Sip wine while learning about prairie restoration, meet a live bird of prey while listening to a steel pan drummer, and watch a paleontologist clean fossils while enjoying food from around the world.
Many generous businesses have gotten involved through silent auction and food donations. Bidders will choose from silent auction items donated from Brookfield Zoo, Morton Arboretum, Burpee Museum, the Shedd Aquarium, Mt. Olympus Water Park as well as many, many local businesses. The Groundhog Gala takes place this Saturday, January 26th, from 6 -9pm at the museum, 425 W. State Street in Sycamore. Call the museum or stop by to purchase your tickets: 815-895-9777.
