“Grease” is the Word as dancers from the Beth Fowler Dance Company and School of Dance of Genoa and St. Charles rehearse for their upcoming production of “Grease & More!”
The opening section is a fun upbeat variety of award winning dances. The high energy show features hit songs and a variety of lyrical, hip hop, jazz, tap, contemporary and creative dance pieces.
The second half of the show tells the classic story of “Grease” with the original sound track featuring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. Watch T-Bird Danny and shy Sandy, the new girl at Rydell High School, bring this love story to life with a summer romance that has its ups and downs during the school year at Rydell High. The leather jacketed T-Bird Greasers and Jocks, the Pink Ladies and Cheerleaders rock and roll to the energetic music score.
The role of Sandy will be performed by Company member Alyssa Meier of Sycamore with Brandon Fowler of Cortland as Danny. Double cast in the role of ChaCha are Company members Sonia Gaytan of Genoa and Lindsey Haugen of St. Charles.
Performances will be this Friday, June 9 at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 10 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, June 11 at 2 p.m. at the Egyptian Theatre, 135 North Second Street, in DeKalb. Included with each child ticket will be a Meet and Greet with Sandy, Danny and friends.
