Government Shutdown

A wall of arctic cold has shutdown our local government.

As temperatures are projected to plummet toward all-time lows in DeKalb County tomorrow, here is the (growing) list of government organizations and other services that are confirmed shutdown for Wednesday, January 30:

• All DeKalb County Government Offices (Will reopen at Noon on Thursday)
• All DeKalb County Schools
• DeKalb Public Library
• Sycamore Public Library
• Genoa Public Library
• Somonauk Public Library
• Maple Park Village Office (closed until 9:00 a.m. Friday)
• Village of Kingston Administrative Office
• Lakeshore Recycling Refuse Collection
• Somonauk Garbage Collection (Community Disposal and Groot)
• Fixed Route Transit Services (Huskie Line, Dial-A-Ride, MedVAC, Meals on Wheels, and TransVAC)
• DeKalb Park District
• Sycamore Park District Parks & Facilities
• First State Bank of Shabbona
• Resource Bank (All branches)
• Culver’s (Sycamore)
