This Thursday, December 1st, from 5:00pm – 8:00pm, is the Annual Goodfellows Christmas Office Party at PJ’s Courthouse Tavern in Sycamore.
Bring your coworkers and friends and listen to some great holiday favorites and old school R&B with “The Distractions” and “The Footstompers”. Have some great food and drinks, and win some awesome raffle prizes, all donated to this special local cause. All proceeds will purchase Christmas presents for local, needy kids.
Goodfellows is a group that raises money to purchase clothes for children need throughout DeKalb/Sycamore at Christmas time every year. A huge raffle is held in early December to help purchase the clothing. Last year, $11,000 was raised in one night!
Through a partnership with JC Penney’s, clothing is purchased and then brought to a warehouse where many volunteers wrap each child’s clothing gift with the help of numerous local businesses that donate boxes, Christmas gift wrap and tape. The gifts are organized by family and delivered by the Goodfellows on Christmas Eve morning. PJ’s Courthouse Tavern is located at 202 W. State St. in Sycamore.
