In the spirit of giving, the DeKalb Girl Scout Troop 81 met virtually and brainstormed ideas of what they wanted to do this holiday season to spread some good cheer. In the spirit of the holidays, they came up with making cards and goody bags to put smiles on faces during these difficult times. The Troop members came up with the name “Kindness Bags!”
Each girl was given supplies to create and assemble their own bags safe in their own homes'” said Mrs. Bridget Rutkowski, local Girl Scout Director. “After putting their own personal touches with goodies, treats, and homemade cards, they could pass out to people in the community that need a little cheering up during this holiday season.”
The young ladies in the troop have found a special way to make people smile. It is exciting to see young people embrace the need to make others feel special. It is a different and unique way of ‘giving’ and saying ‘thank you’.
