The GED Testing Center at Kishwaukee College announces Illinois High School Equivalency Certificate (GED) testing opportunities for Spring 2014. The new version of the GED Test is now being administered at the College and the new procedures for test registration and testing have been implemented as well.
The GED consists of four testing areas: Reasoning through Language Arts (reading and writing skills), Mathematical Reasoning, Science, and Social Studies. To complete the GED, examinees must achieve a minimum score of 150 on each test area and a minimum total score of 600 on all four tests. The State of Illinois also requires a passing score on the Constitution test to receive the Illinois High School Equivalency Certificate.
With the new 2014 version of the GED Test are new procedures for registering for the test. Examinees must now create a GED Account at www.ged.com and register for the test online or by calling Pearson Vue, the GED testing company, at 877-392-6433 to schedule a testing appointment. Kishwaukee College offers GED testing in the Learning Skills Center (Room A1300) on Fridays between 9:00a.m. – 1:30p.m. Any cancellations or rescheduling is done through Pearson Vue, either online or by phone call. Examinees can register for each of the four subject tests individually or for the entire four-test GED exam. Examinees are charged $30 per test and must pay by credit or debit card.
The Constitution Test is a separate registration and testing procedure. The free paper test consists of 60 questions and has a time limit of one hour. Testing is on Wednesdays at 2:00p.m. To schedule an appointment for the Constitution test, call Tricia Hernandez at 815-825-2086, Ext 3111.
Examinees should arrive at the Kishwaukee College Learning Skills Center (Room A1300) 15 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment and present a non-expired, government-issued photo ID that shows name, address, date of birth, and signature. Acceptable IDs include driver’s license, state identification, passport or Matricula Consular. Temporary visitor driver’s licenses are not acceptable as ID. If the primary ID does not show Illinois residency, the following will also need to be presented: lease, mortgage, utility bills, or any other official mail.
