Wondering where to find local food and farm products in DeKalb County? Satisfy your local food cravings and curiosities on the very first DeKalb County Farm Stroll this Sunday, July 19th, 2015 from 11am-5pm. The DeKalb County Farm Stroll is a self-guided tour of more than a dozen diversified family farms, including You Pick Berries, Honey Hill Orchard, Bountiful Blessings Produce, Jonamac Apple Orchard, Heatherhope Farm and Theis Farm II.
There is no beginning or end to the Farm Stroll, just pick the farms you’d like to see and hit the road. Click here for a printable map of all the farms participating. There is no cost to attend the stroll but you’ll want to bring cash for food or other offerings at the farms.
Remember to pick up your passport at any of the farms the day of the Farm Stroll and indicate which farms you visited. Once you have filled out your passport, place it in the drop box at any of the farms. You will be placed in a drawing for one of the fabulous door prizes.
Come out and see a diverse mix of small family farms producing food, fiber and fun in DeKalb County, Illinois all opening their doors for tours on the same day! Meet Local Farmers, get in on tours of the farms, see demonstrations and get yummy samples. The event is meant to be a relaxing, fun and educational event for all.
