Fire at DeKalb High Rise

Ivan Krpan filed this report from the scene of a fire at the DeKalb high rise apartments at 507 E Taylor:

Fire was contained to Apt 801. Smoke filled entire 8th floor hallway. Several residents suffered minor smoke inhalation. All should be fine. Cause of fire still under investigation but early signs suggest garbage fire in Apt 801. Several area fire departments assisted DeKalb firefighters. DeKalb Fire Department is also responding with ambulance and fire truck to 525 Spring Ave. Busy evening.
