Wardrobe Department Asking for Local T-shirt/Hats from our Businesses
The DeKalb County Convention and Visitors Bureau has been working with a feature film crew for several months now to persuade them to film and set up production here in DeKalb County. They are very pleased to announce that they were successful in the endeavor and the crew has started filming. This feature film will have a big impact on our area with the revenue that it will generate for local businesses. It will also generate wonderful publicity for DeKalb County.
This is a film about a farm family that experiences internal conflict when the father wants one of his sons to get more involved and take over the business. The son wants to pursue a career as a NASCAR driver. The father is being played by Dennis Quaid and Zac Efron is the son. The director is Ramin Bahrani (www.noruzfilms.com)
The DCCVB is coordinating all local contacts for the crew and actors. The wardrobe department has asked the DCCVB to reach out to all local businesses in DeKalb County to donate two (at minimum) t-shirts and hats that have your business logo on them. It is possible that you will see your company t-shirt or hat worn by one of the actors or extras in the film. They have no specific sizes for hats but the sizes of t-shirts they need to gather are: M, L., XL., XXL. They will even take slightly used t-shirts if you have them to contribute.
They will be collecting the t-shirts at the DeKalb County Convention and Visitor Bureau Office this week and hope to have all them to deliver to wardrobe on Thursday, July 14. Their office is located at: 164 E. Lincoln Hwy., DeKalb, IL. Open hours are Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm. They will ask you to give us your contact information when you drop off the hats and t-shirts.
This is a unique opportunity for all of our local businesses to get involved with the filming of the movie. Feel free to bring in coupons or gift certificates from your business for the cast and crew as well. They have about 40 crew members and 6 actors that have been announced to-date. The Convention and Visitors Bureau will make sure that these get delivered to the cast and crew as well.
Please feel free to forward this request to all your business contacts in DeKalb County. We want everyone that wants to contribute to get involved with this exciting project. The DCCVB wants to Thank you in advance for helping out and letting the film crew know how much we appreciate them choosing DeKalb County for some of the locations and setting up shop here. The DCCVB will be posting what they can regarding the filming on their facebook page so if make sure to go to their page and ‘like’ it if you haven’t already here.

This movie is going to be great. This director makes really good, meaningful movies. I cant wait to see it.
Yes please let us know if there is anymore open calls for extras. I know someone that would love to have that chance.
They put a call out for extras on June 29 and do not need any more at the moment. I’ve been told there might be more work available in the fall.
Awesomeness, just called my brother inlaw who owns YardSmart as well as this his son races the Yardsmart car out at Sycamore Speedway, also would like to know if there looking for any extra. I have three children that would love to be apart of this experience as well.
This is so cool! Are they looking for extras? Will there ever be a meet-and-greet set up for fans to meet Dennis Quaid and Zac Effron?

Zac Efron, Heather Graham, and the “producer” (maybe director??) all came into one of the local DeKalb restaurants late last night according to a buddy of mine who was one of the only people still there. He talked with these folks but he did not recognize them, and was quite puzzled as to why people from New York and Los Angeles would come to DeKalb. When asked where is a good bar nearby, my buddy responded with all honesty,
“Chicago.”
The local Chamber is probably not going to like that story!
