KishHealth System, part of Northwestern Medicine, is the proud sponsor of Northern Illinois University (NIU) Huskies’ Kick Off Kid. Kids are encouraged to enter for a chance to be the Kick Off Kid for NIU Football.
For the NIU football game on Saturday, October 15, against Central Michigan, prospective Kick Off Kids are asked to post a photo to the KishHealth System Facebook page showing their “Healthy Huskie Spirit.” The winner of the spirit contest will be chosen on Oct. 12. The photo spirit contest rules are as follows: submissions need to show children in the NIU Huskie Spirit participating in a healthy activity, photos while in Huskie Stadium or on the campus of NIU are encouraged. Please, only one submission per child.
For the NIU football game on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 2:30 pm against Buffalo, prospective Kick Off Kids need to write an essay telling the community “How Future Huskies Keep Healthy.” The winner of the essay contest will be chosen on Oct. 19. The essay contest rules are as follows: submissions need to be typed (parent assistance on the computer is acceptable), the essay should be at least one page double spaced but no longer than three pages in 12-point font. Please, only one submission per child.
To enter the photo spirit contest please post to the KishHealth System Facebook page. To enter the essay contest please email tkomitas@kishhealth.org. So the winner can be notified; entries should include: parent/guardian name, telephone number, and email address; entries should include the child’s name and age.
To qualify to be entered in the contest for the Kick Off Kid, the child must be between the ages of 8 to 13 years old and not too shy to run out on the field at the start of the game. Additionally, the child must be available an hour before the game and can have up to five guests with him or her on the field.
