A new drama-horror TV series on HBO entitled “Lovecraft Country” will feature Elburn.” The production crews plans to start filming in Elburn in late July.
A major cast of actors are a part of the Lovecraft Country crew; Courtney B. Vance from (American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson), Aunjanue Ellis from the series (Quantico) and Elizabeth Debicki from the (The Tale) have been seen on set possibly for major roles opposite Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Jonathan Majors and Wunmi Mosaku this is one of HBO’s more successful and viewed drama series. Lovecraft Country, from writer Misha Green, and Oscar winner Jordan Peele and his Monkeypaw Productions, J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot and Warner Bros Television will continue the legacy of creating interesting characters and story lines that intrigue and capture your imagination.
The novel, Lovecraft Country, by Matt Ruff, follows the story of Atticus Black (Majors) as he meets up with his dear friend Letitia (Smottett-Bell) and his Uncle George (Vance) while they journey America’s back roads in the 1950 Jim Crow States finding the were about of Atticus’ missing father. Together they face the historical obstacles of racism in white America of the day, hence finding new ways to survive and overcome the terrors facing black America all cleverly crafted in the gripping paperback Lovecraft.
Elburn Village officials met with production and film-crew officials for the upcoming series. The Village of Elburn was selected as a location to film a scene in the pilot episode.
