The Egyptian Theatre will be showcased on the Theatre Historical Society of America’s (THSA) annual tour, with a stop in DeKalb today, Thursday, June 30th. The event is held annually in different cities and this year’s tour features theatres and other locations in Chicago and northern Illinois.
More than 100 visitors will arrive in DeKalb by bus on Thursday morning to tour the Egyptian Theatre and learn about its history in the City.
“We are so happy to visit DeKalb, because places like the Egyptian Theatre are important to us,” said Richard Fosbrink, CEO of the THSA. “The Egyptian isn’t just a beautiful old theatre, it’s a living part of an active and vibrant community and it shows the world that historic theatres are vital parts of our community.”
THSA’s national membership is made up of theatre architects, scholars, movie theatre experts, theatre managers, specialists in restoration and others in the theatre industry.
