It’s Easter weekend and there is all kinds of fun planned around DeKalb County. Below is a list of great family fun things to do!
DeKalb’s Breakfast with the Bunny & Egg Hunt
This hippity-hoppity good time will be hosted for the community by DeKalb Park District, The DeKalb Chamber of Commerce and Feed’Em Soup. This event includes a hearty breakfast at 9:00am in the Terrace Room, at Hopkins Community Center and a special visit with the Easter Bunny, before he leaves to hide his eggs out back to hunt for. The Easter Egg Hunt will follow at 10:30am, outside, at Hopkins Park. Hurry, registration for the Breakfast closes Tuesday, March 22! Cost is $5 per ticket.
Sycamore’s Breakfast with the Bunny
Welcome the bunny to Sycamore and share a breakfast with family and friends. Bring your camera for this great photo opportunity. Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, eggs, and juice. Each child takes home a special memento of the day while supplies last. Register by Tuesday, 3/22 at 4:30pm. Cost is $4 for Sycamore residents and $5 for non-residents. At the door: residents $5, non-residents $6. This event will be held at Sycamore United Methodist Church, 160 Johnson Ave. in Sycamore from 7:30 am – 9:15 am.
Genoa’s Easter Egg Hunt
Kids grab your basket and fill it with eggs and candy and maybe find a special prize egg. Children will be separated by age groups for more fun. Everyone will also get to see that special Easter Bunny too. The egg hunt will go fast so don’t be late. There is no cost for this event on Saturday, March 26th at 10:00 am for ages 24 mo. and under and ages 2-4; 10:30 for ages 5 and above at Chamberlain Park in Genoa.
Sandwich Spring Holiday Egg Hunt
This annual free event will take place outside in Knights Park (N. Latham St. and E. Arnold St.) from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday, rain or shine. Dress appropriately for the weather and bring a basket to collect your eggs. There will be two sections, one for infants to 5 years of age and one for 6 – 9 years of age. Make sure all children have an adult with them while searching for eggs. There is a limit of six (6) eggs per child. Afterwards, stay and visit with the Bunny! Bring your camera for the perfect photo opportunity.
