So is the road actually open now?

Yes

Mark Charvat you are correct, the tollway has nothing to do with project. Too bad it wasn’t originally performed as initially proposed when the tollways closed down their Annie Glidden ramps during the summer.

Thank you Mark Charvat for being our ‘on the scene reporter’ , our Publisher Michael Embrey will award you a GOLD Star.

48 hours late. The City of DeKalb miscalculated the time table and issued an official press release (published on this site as well) indicating the road would be open on Saturday 9/29. The city admitted it screwed up. Sadly, many semi-trucks traveling northbound on S 1st street pulled up to the intersection of Fairview with nowhere to go (based on false information released by the city). These semi-trucks were forced to turn EAST on Fairview and travel on a road that is a no truck route to get to the peace Rd exit. This was not a tollway issue, it was inaccurate information released and published by the city. Another City of DeKalb failure.
