NIU’s first Earth Week is scheduled from Monday, April 18, through Saturday, April 23.
Earth Week is a collaborative effort supported by more than 15 environmentally conscious organizations to bring a more sustainable culture to NIU.
Organizations include:

- Green Paws Environmental Alliance
- Illinois Lakes Management Association
- Committee for the Preservation of Wildlife
- Communiversity Gardens
- Geography Club
- Geology Club
- Anthropology Club
- Sustainability, Environment, and Recycle Management Association
- Vegetarian Education Group
- Collegiate Association of Unreasonable Social Entrepreneurs
- Green Living Community
- Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Club
- H2O 2Go
- Supporting Opportunities for Latinos
Fun, interactive events are planned throughout the week; members of the university community are encouraged to share the events with theirfriends and make sure to use #GoGreenNIU to find events, thereby helping to extend the movement beyond just this one week!
