The 36th Annual Cortland Festival and Parade will kick off at 1:00 p.m. this Sunday, October 8th, and will feature members of local bands, scout troops, clubs and other organizations. In honor of our hard working farmers, the committee has chosen “Farming” for the theme of the parade. Participants also receive hot dogs, chips and beverage after the parade, graciously donated by the Cortland Lions Club and Festival and Parade Committee.
The staging for the parade will begin at 11 A.M. The parade steps off at 1 P.M. rain or shine. The Parade Committee will be hosting a small festival at Cortland Community Park after the parade. Vendors will offer food for purchase. Fun for all ages!
Artisans, Crafters and Business vendors are needed for the festival after the parade (1:30-5:00 p.m.). Anyone interested in booth space, participating in the parade, volunteering or wanting more information should contact Judy Butler at 815-751-6683. Show support for your annual community festival and parade!
Monetary donations are being accepted by the committee to help offset the cost of the parade. Donations should be sent to Town of Cortland Festival & Parade, PO Box 519, Cortland, IL 60112-0519.
