‘The DeKalb High School Class of 1976 held its fortieth reunion the weekend of September 23-25, 2016. Over 80 classmates attended at least one of the events with many attending all festivities over the weekend. In a desire to give back to the supportive community that raised them, the class collected funds in the amount of $2,340 for the DeKalb Education Foundation Fund administered by the DeKalb County Community Foundation. The purpose of the Fund is to provide additional financial support to the mission of the DeKalb Education Foundation, which is to enhance and enrich education programs for children at every school and in every grade level in DeKalb Community School District #428.
“The DeKalb Education Foundation Board would like to thank the DeKalb High School Class of 1976 for their generous donation,” said DeKalb Education Foundation President Diane Kubetz. “Fundraising and funding sources are always a challenge, so these dollars will go a long way toward meeting our goal of partnering with all District 428 schools to provide quality enhanced educational opportunities for all of our students. Thank you Class of 1976, well done!”
To date, over 300 funds have been established at the Community Foundation. If you wish to make a donation to an existing fund or start one of your own, please contact Executive Director Dan Templin at 815-748-5383 or dan@dekalbccf.org.
