Join DeKalb and Sycamore Police & Fire, NIU and countywide Police the DeKalb County Sheriff’s office and area service providers are teaming up to offer a FREE Community Awareness Fair in celebration of National Night Out this Tuesday, August 2nd, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Target Store at 2555 Sycamore Road in DeKalb. The Target Corporation partners with local law enforcement agencies and fire departments to learn about community organizations and safety. Featured events will include: Fire Department safety smoke house, Live K9 police dog demonstrations, a simulated 911 call center for kids, along with music, games, a bounce house and food. Come join the fun for FREE.
Law enforcement and community booths will include: DeKalb County Sheriff, DeKalb Police & Fire, Sycamore Police & Fire, NIU Police, Kish Health Systems, DeKalb Library, The YMCA, Mathnasium, Billcho Martial Arts, The Family Service Agency, RAMP, AdventureWorks, Dekalb County Youth Services, DeKalb and Sycamore Park Districts and many more!
The Sandwich Police Dept. is also hosting a National Night Out event on August 2nd, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Veterans Park, 151 E Railroad St, Sandwich. They will have a 5k, a Car Show, Touch a Police Car and Fire Engine, vendors along the sidewalks, raffles, games, and fun for the whole family!
NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is “Americas’ Night Out Against Crime”. It is designed to:
∙ Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
∙ Generate support for and participation in local anticrime and safety programs
∙ Strengthen neighborhood spirit and policecommunity partnerships
∙ Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back
∙ Get to know local police officers and firefighters in a fun and interactive way

It says at the target store and in downtown sandwich. It’s a 2 different locations. There is one event at target in Dekalb and one event in downtown sandwich. Both events are from 5pm-8pm on the 2nd.
Oh just to make sure I’m clear wasn’t trying to be rude. Just wanted to let you know. Cause honestly when I read it at first, I thought the same thing. Then I clicked on the link and read the article, went back and realized I completely skipped over the and. I totally thought it said at the target in downtown sandwich too.
