The City of DeKalb is looking to fill a brand new administrative position of Human Resources Director. Applications are due by March 18th, 2016. This four-color brochure that the City put together to promote this job opening explains the position in even greater detail than below.
The Human Resources Director plans and directs the City human resource management programs including recruitment, personnel policy administration, performance management, organizational development and training, talent management, workers’ compensation, risk management, employee and labor relations, compensation management, employee benefits, wellness programs and HRIS. The Human Resources Director will develop a human resources strategic plan, practices and programs while identifying innovative solutions to streamline and enhance overall effectiveness.
The position of Human Resources Director is a department head level position and key member of the executive team, who reports to the Assistant City Manager. The position is a full time exempt position requiring attendance at meetings outside of regular business hours including weekends. The Human Resources Director works in an office environment and is frequently away from the department attending meetings in other locations. This position routinely handles highly sensitive and/or confidential information. This position will also experience constant contact with internal staff and the community at large. The Human Resources Director will lead and supervise a team.

We do not need this position in the city. Whos paying this $ 100,000 plus wage. Not to mention vac health pension ????

A brochure? Is this typical? We paid someone to create a brochure to advertise a position that shouldn’t be difficult to fill. There is no shortage of qualified candidates and the traditional routes to list and advertise the position don’t require the expenses of a custom brochure.

Is this an early April Fools joke DeKalb County Online? Surely, DeKalb does not need or cannot afford what is probably a six figure position.
