Do you enjoy sketching or creative writing? This is the time and place for you! Bring your Chromebook, writing journal, or sketch pad. We’ll supply some laptops, writing prompts, and art supplies. All your creative projects can be added to Tea for Tweens magazine, written by DeKalb area students. Can’t come to the event, and want to be included in the magazine? Book Babies

Books are for everyone, even our littlest library patrons! Our Book Babies program is aimed at children ages 0-18 months, although older children are welcome to attend. Grief Support Group

Join others going through grief and loss and receive support in a safe and confidential setting with the facilitation from a ProMedica Hospice Bereavement Coordinator. In this ongoing grief support group, you will have the opportunity to share your experiences with grief, receive insight from peers and the facilitator on the grieving process, and learn more about grief. This group is open to adults experiencing grief from any loss, no matter where they are on this journey. This support group is free. No registration is required. Illuminate Your Creativity: Candle Making 101

Welcome to the “Illuminate Your Creativity: Candle Making 101,” where you’ll discover the mesmerizing art of crafting your very own candles. You will have the chance to decorate the holder your candle will be poured in. Those interested in the process will learn how to melt the wax and add dye. All supplies will be provided. The Big Read Book Club: Heartland

Our aim is to have critical conversations around the idea of the “American Dream” and what it means to each of us today. In general, we’ll be asking: How have our personal definitions of the “American Dream” stayed the same or changed over time? Does the “American Dream” seem achievable? Our first read is Heartland: A Memoir of Working Hard and Being Broke in the Richest Country on Earth by Sarah Smarsh. We’ll discuss the first half in December and the second half in January.
