On April 25th, 2014 at approximately 1:30pm, DeKalb Police Officers went to 418 N. 11th Street Apartment #3, DeKalb to speak to the residents as part of an ongoing drug investigation. The officers knocked on the apartment door which was opened by an occupant. The officers immediately observed what they believed to be an active methamphetamine lab. The building was evacuated due to the potential safety hazards that existed. DeKalb Fire and the Illinois State Police Meth Response Team were summoned to the scene.
The area immediately adjacent to the residence was secured to await the arrival of the ISP Meth Response Team. Using proper safety precautions, the ISP Meth Response Team entered the apartment to remediate the active methamphetamine lab. They subsequently collected and preserved the evidence that was located. No injuries occurred during this incident.
Through interviews, evidence seized, and further investigation the following subjects were arrested and charged:

- Aggravated Participation in the Production of Methamphetamine-Class X Felony
- Participation in the Production of Methamphetamine-Class 1 Felony
- Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Materials-Class 2 Felony
- Unlawful Use of Property
- Malgorzata M. Dutkowska F/W, 25 years old
418 N. 11th Street Apt. #3
DeKalb, IL 60115
- Aggravated Participation in the Production of Methamphetamine-Class X Felony
- Participation in the Production of Methamphetamine-Class 1 Felony
- Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Materials-Class 2 Felony
- Jennifer A. Simpson F/W, 32 years old
418 N. 11th Street Apt. #1
DeKalb, IL 60115
- Aggravated Participation in the Production of Methamphetamine-Class X Felony
- Participation in the Production of Methamphetamine-Class 1 Felony
- Possession of Methamphetamine Manufacturing Materials-Class 2 Felony
This investigation is continuing which may result in further arrests.
