It was a perfect day in DeKalb. John Lardas Sr., Owner-Operator, is proud to bring a new, upscale McDonald’s to the DeKalb community. The new McDonald’s has a new dining room, self-order kiosks, mobile-ordering, table service and a state of the art kitchen. It is exactly what DeKalb McDonald’s lovers and NIU students have been waiting for.
At the ribbon-cutting, John Lardas Sr. welcomed friends, colleagues, Mayor Smith, and McDonald’s executives.
Mayor Smith told the crowd how thrilled they are to have the Lardas family in the community and how much he appreciates all that he put into bringing this brand new re-modeled McDonald’s to DeKalb. Mayor Smith remembers going to this same McDonald’s in 1961. He said how McDonald’s is a staple on this side of town for the community and for the University.
Julie Basden, daughter of John Lardas Sr., and also an Owner-Operator said, “We are so very pleased to be able to celebrate our remodeled McDonald’s with all of DeKalb and look forward to being able to serve our customers for many years to come.”
The event also featured an appearance by Anna from RC Juggles who did balloon sculpting and face painting for the kids.
