The final weekend of the Illinois Bicentennial Event, “Doors Open Illinois,” will showcase two of DeKalb’s great historical and architectural landmarks: the Egyptian Theatre and the Ellwood House Museum. Both sites will have special public viewings available throughout the day on Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26.
Egyptian Theatre
The architectural treasure at the corner of Second and Locust in Downtown DeKalb was built in 1929 as an homage to the discovery of King Tut’s tomb. The theatre is both an historic landmark and a vibrant show venue. Stop by and check it out during Corn Fest August 25 and August 26.
