There will be some special food surprises for those that attend. One of the veteran organization in attendance will be members of the DeKalb American Legion Auxiliary with information about ‘Be The One’, a group who wants the general public aware of the number of suicides happening with veterans.

Flag Day: Flag Day, in the United States, is a day honoring our national flag, and observed on June 14. The holiday commemorates the date in 1777 when the United States approved the design for its first national flag. A date to honor our flag was first proposed in 1861 to rally support for the Union side of the American Civil War. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a presidential proclamation that designated June 14 as America’s Official Flag Day, to honor old glory.
Special: Bernard Cigrand, a small-town Wisconsin teacher, originated the idea for an annual flag day, to be celebrated across the country every June 14, in 1885.
